Scenario

Fire extinguishers, as reported in numerous ministerial decrees and in particular in the Consolidated Law on Safety at Work, Legislative Decree 81/08, must be present in places, both work and otherwise, where there is a risk of fire. The UNI EN 3-10 conformity certification allows fire extinguisher manufacturing companies to create trust in the fire extinguisher market by guaranteeing safety and quality standards in the production of their products.

Obtaining and maintaining the certificate of conformity of portable fire extinguishers allows manufacturers to strengthen their brand and create added value by highlighting the qualitative characteristics of both the components and the finished product, thus providing transparency in the production processes to their customers .

Solution

The UNI EN 3-10 standard establishes the minimum requirements for the certification of conformity of portable fire extinguishers in accordance with EN 3-7 and the quality requirements and production control of fire extinguishers. The fire extinguisher conformity certification service includes an initial phase of verifying the suitability of all the documents necessary to satisfy the requirements of the standard. Subsequently, our experts will verify the conformity of the initial type tests and carry out an audit for factory production control (FPC). To maintain the certification it will be necessary to establish a surveillance service for maintaining the requirements indicated in Appendix A.

This certification applies to all manufacturers of portable powder, foam and CO2 fire extinguishers.
